Regular exercise is perhaps one of the best long-term investments possible for your body. The benefits are so numerous, and so well known, that they’re hardly worth mentioning yet again, here. Other than to say; if you don’t already get regular exercise, now is certainly the time to start doing so.
But of course, talking about regular exercise, and actually doing it, are two completely different things.
Keeping a routine can be challenging, not in the least due to the demanding nature of a modern lifestyle and all the exciting things you want to do, like Australian sports betting. It can seem like an extremely tall order to find the energy for an hour of gym after a heavy day at work, and hence routines quickly fall apart.
Unless, of course exercise seems less like effort, and more like fun.
Brisk Walking With Music
Some have the willpower and determination to get up at 5:30AM, speed into the gym, destroy the treadmill at a break neck pace for an hour, and still arrive at work looking fresh as a daisy. If you’re not one of those people, don’t be embarrassed, most of us aren’t.
The truth is that a brisk walk, or moderate jog, is just as good, as long as you’re getting your heart rate up. It need not be an hour long, time consuming endeavour either, as long as you stick to a routine, and get a brisk walk in at least a few times a week.
Plus; putting on a pair of headphones can turn a brisk walk into a meditative, relaxing experience, so much so that you may even forget it’s exercise at all.
Dancing
Better yet, why not get your exercise dancing? It has music built right into it, and can be an absolute blast. Yes, you can enrol in a professional dance class once or twice a week, which is a great idea. But, if you’re not into such a formal option, dancing in your living room for a bit yields equally as beneficial results.
Again, getting your heart rate up is the goal, so no matter how well, or awkwardly, you happen to be dancing, the result is still a good workout. Just put on a favourite playlist, clear some space, and go nuts for a while. Easy as that.
Physical Video Games
Remember the Wii Fit? Yes, it’s sort of fallen our of favour now, which means it’s exactly the right time to pick one up for next to nothing. In fact, you can pick up an entire package, complete with balance board, controllers, and multiple games, for dirt.
The Wii Fit was all but designed to combine fun and exercise, so it really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the games and interactive workout experiences are just that; fun.
As far as convenient, pre-packaged workouts go, it doesn’t come much better than this. Sure, we know the workout games can often lean way into the corny department, but there is one important rule to always keep in mind; if it works, it works. Keep doing it.
